Outwardly Creative’s Debut Event: A successful celebration of the creative community, highlighting LGBTQIA+ voices and our allies.
We’re thrilled to share that Outwardly Creative’s very first event, held at Helm Gallery in Brighton, was a resounding success! With tickets selling quickly and an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees, it’s clear there’s a real need for spaces like this—where creative professionals can connect, share ideas, and build meaningful communities.
archangels ARCHITECTS, as hosts, envisioned an inclusive event that brought people together in a not-for-profit initiative - not only to network, but to exchange stories, spark collaborations, and celebrate the diversity of our shared experiences.
Throughout the evening, guests were invited to engage in two creative encounters: live portrait sketching by local artist Debbie and tarot card readings by Charlie from tarotintecnicolour, offering playful and personal moments of connection. One of the highlights of the night was our panel talk, featuring three inspiring speakers—Tarek, Mo, and Soraya—who each brought a unique perspective to the conversation around designing and creating for those outside the “norm.”
The discussion touched on flexible architecture, inclusive design, and the psychological dimensions of space. Soraya approached the topic from a psychological lens, Mo offered insights from an inclusivity experience perspective, and Tarik contributed with his experience as an architect.
Feedback praised the event’s inclusive atmosphere, thought-provoking panel, and the opportunity to meet others whose paths might not usually cross—but whose ideas and experiences resonated deeply. Many attendees noted how refreshing it was to be in a space where they could show up authentically and professionally.
We're proud to announce that Outwardly Creative will now be a recurring series, with our next event planned for July. Tickets will be released soon—stay tuned!
